The Neonatology Graduate Clinic

by Tiffany McKee-Garrett, MD

The Neonatology Graduate Clinic opened its doors to its first patients in September 2002. The clinic is on the 17th floor of the new Clinical Care Center at Texas Children’s Hospital and is a primary care clinic for graduates of the newborn and intensive care nurseries at Texas Children’s, St. Luke’s Hospital, and The Methodist Hospital.

The clinic provides services to all patients of pediatric age. This service is particularly convenient for families with newborns and older children who wish to receive their health care with the same physician at one location. Additionally, clinic patients with complex medical problems can receive primary care and sub-specialty care at the same location, since sub-specialty clinics are in the Clinical Care Center, too. Every effort is made to coordinate appointments in the Neonatal Graduate Clinic with other sub-specialty clinics to accommodate the families.

The clinic is staffed by board-certified pediatricians from the Neonatology Section at Baylor College of Medicine. While these physicians focus on the care of neonates, they are very experienced in the care of pediatric patients of all ages. The clinic also has access to the services of a registered neonatal/pediatric dietitian and a certified social worker.

Appointments for well children are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Appointments for sick children are available Monday and Wednesday. An on-call physician is accessible at night for acute patient problems.

• The clinic telephone telephone number is 832-822-3500
